Weak Legs

Today I had a rude awakening. This morning in chapel Sean Higgins spoke on how we could waste our time left at Grace. That alone was extremely convicting, yet something else stood out to me.

Sean Higgins made a comment to the effect of "How are we to be Christ like if we never take time to think about Him, or even talk about Him."
This phrase really caught my attention and stayed with me throughout school. After school I went in for a job interview. This is where my rude awakening happened. The lady interviewing me asked me a bunch of questions and one came up that was a wide open door to share about my Faith. As I prepared to stand up and take the opportunity I had before me the words seemed so awkward and as I tried to explain my own personal walk with Christ I stumbled over my words and babbled like an idiot. The rest of the interview went great, but the one thing that actually had importance in light of eternity flopped. Sean's comment came flooding right back into my mind. After that interview I kept thinking to myself, "So this is what it is like to stand on weak legs..."
How important it is to make sure that we are ready to make a stand for Christ at any given time and to put Him in top priority so that He is on the forefront of our minds. If he really is our top priority talking about Christ should flow more easily than anything concerning this world. Like I said, it was a rude awakening.

Encouragement

Hey, it has been a while, I know. I havent' been trying to slack off on my blogging but needless to say...I have.
Well, to get things back into gear I am dedicating this blog to say thank you to Kim, who kicked me in the pants today for not blogging in a long while (lovingly of course ;) Have you ever had those days when you were really discouraged? And you really needed a good friend to keep you from being frustrated and get things into perspective? Yeap, well that was me today. And I was very thankful that the Lord put kim there to encourage me when I needed it most. So Kim, if your reading this, which you should! Thank you! :D You may not have realized it but you were very encouraging to me today and I appreciate it very much! By the way the test wasn't nearly as bad as I was complaining it out to be ;)

Forever Worship

I am so stinkin' excited for heaven where all we will do is worship God!!! For the last two days I have been at the ACSI Musical convention. Together with about 600+ voices we lined the perimeter of a gym and sang worship songs!!!!
A lot of them were occapella and in that gym they just echoed like no bodies business! On a couple of the songs we even learned how to side step and clap, in beat all 600+ of us!! That was one of my favorite parts. It was just beautiful!
I am very excited for heaven after getting just a wee little taste of what it will be like!

P.S. How do you spell occapella?:D

Contagious Passion

Have you ever been around someone so passionate for Christ that you could sit their and listen to them for hours?
Or, when listening to them share their faith through trials you become thankful for what a magnificent God we have! Well, this is what happened to me today.

For our chapel today we had a special speaker come in by the name of Fred...something, (none of us actually caught his last name...) He is a missionary in Ethiopia working as a vet.
I still cannot believe how fast chapel went! I thought he had been talking for about 5 min, when all of sudden, to my great disappointment, he closed in prayer! (I wasn't disappointed he prayed but that he was done sharing!)

This man has lived through so many life changing experiences that he rattled off like our little mundane trials, for example, we would say, "my car broke down, so and so is mad at me..., I look horrible today, I'm tired, ..."
He would say, "I was shot at a few times.., the lives of my family and I were threatened…, my family and I were caught in a couple of flash floods and survived by God's grace …”

These are only a few of the many examples he shot out...not to mention nonchalantly throwing in, "and a few run-ins with lions and snakes and such..."
He referred back to what we might call huge trials as if they were little trials.

I cannot forget the passion in which he stressed the importance of placing our faith in Christ. One of the things he really sought for us to understand was how real the Spiritual battle is. He used one of my favorite verses which states, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me…” By the way, this guy knows God's word and has it hidden in his heart. (something I was convicted about)

Today I would not have been as enthralled by this man’s sermon had he not been faithful to live for Christ even to the point of death. I honestly cried a little bit when he was done because I realized what a spiritually starved life I am living and what a suffocating atmosphere I allow myself to be in. His stories were a breath of fresh air from the everyday putrid garbage we allow ourselves to inhale from this world. But only because he has placed his faith in Christ has he been able to endure such hard and amazing trials. We cannot undermine Faith!

I cannot think of a better way to live than to live by faith, knowing that God will never give me anything more than I can handle. Once we have placed our faith in Christ there is no need to fear or doubt, simply obey and pursue living for God to bring Him all the glory He is due.
